About databit.me

A small, independent toolkit for people who like making things blink, beep and connect.

databit.me exists because choosing a microcontroller shouldn't mean opening twelve tabs. Every board has a different chip, a different pinout and a different set of gotchas, and the answers are scattered across datasheets, forum threads and shop pages.

What you'll find here

  • A board finder covering 40 popular boards, with filters for wireless, pins, memory, power and price.
  • Side-by-side comparisons for any two or three boards, with pages for the most-asked matchups.
  • 8 calculators for the maths that comes up in every project.
  • Interactive pinouts that explain every pin and give you code to paste.
  • A blog with plain-spoken guides.

How we keep it honest

Specs come from manufacturer datasheets and documentation. Where a number depends on the board rather than the chip — sleep current is the classic example — we label it as typical or approximate. If you find a mistake, please tell us and we'll fix it.

databit.me is free to use. It is supported by a small number of unobtrusive ads and by affiliate links on shop buttons (see the affiliate disclosure). Those links never change which board we describe as better.

Missing a board?

The board database is deliberately simple so new boards are easy to add. Send a suggestion through the contact page.
